Robin Landry grew up in Puyallup, Washington and currently lives on a lake near Seatac Airport. She is currently working on an adventure mystery series for young adults.

Little Rappin’ Ridin’ Hood dressed in red,

Going to see her granny, who was sick in bed.

Skipping down the streets of New York City,

She's dressed in red, looking so pretty.

Got a basket full of goodies and some treats,

Spies a sewer rat across the street.

“I know a shortcut to your granny's house,

“No need to be afraid; I'm just a little mouse.”

Red laughed at that mouse,

And starts for Granny's house.

“No one can fool me,

This ain't no movie,

Just wait and you'll see,

Who's got it going on.”

Mr. Rat got there first, and he knocked on the door,

Granny opened it up, now she's tied up on the floor.

Little Rappin’ Red got to Granny's place,

Took a look inside, “Hey, something's wrong with Granny's face!”

“My oh my, those sure are big eyes.”

“The better to see you with,” Mr. Rat lied.

“Those sure are big ears, I fear, ‘cause it's getting clear.”

“The better to hear you with, my little rappin’ dear.”

“My, oh my, those sure are big teeth.”

“The better to eat you with, you look mighty sweet.”

Before that rat could swallow Red in one bite,

Little Rappin’ Red goes and puts up a fight.

With a knock on the door comes the cable man,

Sees the situation, comes up with a plan.

Takes out his tools, takes a whack at that rat,

Out comes ‘Ol Granny, in one minute flat
